The appointment of Highcliffe Safety Services as a company’s competent Person would fulfil the requirements of Regulation 7 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999. Regulation 7 imposes a duty upon the employer to appoint a Competent Person to advise them of their statutory responsibilities and to assist with translating these into practical safety actions.

Reg (7) (1)

“Every employer shall, subject to paragraphs (6) and (7) appoint one or more competent persons to assist him in undertaking the measures he needs to take to comply with the requirements and prohibitions imposed upon him by or under the relevant statutory provisions and by part II of the Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1997.”

Highcliffe Safety Services offers a range of solutions to employers which depend on the type of business, number of employees and the hazards and risks which the employees are exposed to.

The service ranges from appointment with support by telephone and e-mail for low risk and uncomplicated operations with specific additional consultancy being at an additional cost to support by telephone and e-mail supplemented by regular inspections and reports accompanied by attendance at management meetings. The exact requirements of the company can be catered for and the solution tailored to suit the exact circumstances.

As the services are flexible and designed to be tailored to an individual company the costs associated with this service at a higher than basic level can only be quoted for after consultation with the company to determine their requirements.

The cost for appointment for a one year period at the basic level which comprises certificate of appointment and telephone and e-mail support is £475.00 payable upon appointment. Any additional services beyond the telephone and e-mail support would be charged at the fees current at the time.
