The
appointment of Highcliffe Safety
Services as a company’s competent
Person would fulfil the requirements of
Regulation 7 of the Management of Health
and Safety at Work Regulations 1999. Regulation
7 imposes a duty upon the employer to appoint
a Competent Person to advise them of their
statutory responsibilities and to assist
with translating these into practical safety
actions.
Reg (7) (1)
“Every employer
shall, subject to paragraphs (6) and (7)
appoint one or more competent persons to
assist him in undertaking the measures he
needs to take to comply with the requirements
and prohibitions imposed upon him by or
under the relevant statutory provisions
and by part II of the Fire Precautions (Workplace)
Regulations 1997.”
Highcliffe Safety
Services offers a range of solutions
to employers which depend on the type of
business, number of employees and the hazards
and risks which the employees are exposed
to.
The service ranges from
appointment with support by telephone and
e-mail for low risk and uncomplicated operations
with specific additional consultancy being
at an additional cost to support by telephone
and e-mail supplemented by regular inspections
and reports accompanied by attendance at
management meetings. The exact requirements
of the company can be catered for and the
solution tailored to suit the exact circumstances.
As the services are flexible
and designed to be tailored to an individual
company the costs associated with this service
at a higher than basic level can only be
quoted for after consultation with the company
to determine their requirements.
The cost for appointment
for a one year period at the basic level
which comprises certificate of appointment
and telephone and e-mail support is £475.00
payable upon appointment. Any additional
services beyond the telephone and e-mail
support would be charged at the fees current
at the time.
